On February 26th 2011, I received a successful kidney transplant in Indianapolis, Indiana. For the past four years the kidney has been working great. However in early 2015, I received news that I was having some acute rejection. Since then, I have been in intense, painful and very hard-core treatments to bring the organ back to normal function. I am currently undergoing plasmapheresis to remove the plasma cells and certain proteins from my blood that are attacking the kidney.
