My name is Lynne’ Griffin, a fifty-year old mom of four beautiful children and a grandma of three amazing grand-babies. Along with my husband, they are my life. But all was thrown into upheaval when my kidneys “crashed” in April of 2014. Tests showed that they were only functioning at 7 percent! Doctors have told me my only hope for survival is a kidney transplant but the cost is overwhelming.

My husband and I still have two of our children living at home with us. He and I are self-employed; I do the financial side of things while my sweet hubby manufactures the product to be sold. Unfortunately, my deteriorating health makes it difficult to help as much as I used to and dialysis three days a week takes its toll.

I am in the process of being tested at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, as is my husband. We are praying that he will be a match so he can donate his kidney to me. Though we have insurance, we will both be unemployed at the time of surgery and there are many expenses not covered for me and my donor such as travel back and forth, relocation closer to the center, copays and premiums to name a few.

To help with the financial burden of these uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign has been established in my honor with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years.
