Hey There,
My Name Is Malachi Banks. I’m 15 years old, and I was diagnosed with Acute Kidney Disease on October 19, 2023. I was also diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis, the cause of my kidney failure. I have lost over 60% of my kidney function.
While having this disease, I have good days and bad days. This year I started a new school. I have missed quite a few days. I go based on how I’m feeling. Sometimes I’m tired, weak, and in pain. I travel from New Bern to Greenville 2 to 3 times a week or as needed for different lab work to monitor the disease. This causes more loss of school time. I am on the list for a Kidney transplant. I may be called at anytime.
It has been a short, challenging, yet somewhat smooth journey. With the help of my family, doctors, school, church, and community, I am managing well.
This Help Hope Live campaign is to help with hospital expenses, medications, gas and so much more.
