I need a Bilateral Lung Transplant.

I started feeling shortness of breath in the summer of 2022.

The winter of 2022 I came down with pneumonia and my left lung filled up with fluid. That made it harder to breath. The spring of 2023, I got diagnosed with COVID and was hospitalized overnight. That is when things really started going downhill for me.
For a year I had all kinds of tests done to rule out all the other possibilities and was in the hospital multiple times within the year. After my Pulmonologist ruled out everything else, they came to a conclusion that I had Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). It is a serious chronic (long term) disease that affects the tissue surrounding the air sacs, or alveoli, in the lungs. This condition develops when that lung tissue becomes thick and stiff for unknown reasons.
Over time, these changes can cause permanent scarring in the lungs, called fibrosis, that makes it progressively more difficult to breathe. Now I’m on a portable Ventilator and oxygen that I have on 24 hours a day. Then I started going to go to IU methodist in Indianapolis, IN to talk to them about a lung transplant. After all the testing and appointments going back and forth to Indianapolis, they decided with my determination that I would be a good candidate for a Transplant. With things that I would have to fix for my own health. I have been working hard to meet the criteria. The costs don’t stop at the transplant, there are lifelong costs that I will have the rest of my life. I hate to ask for help but if you could help in any way, I would sure appreciate it.
