I NEED YOUR HELP TO BREATHE FREELY AGAIN

Over the last six years, a severe lung illness has greatly affected my health but has not crippled my faith. Even though I need a lung transplant, I have great strength and courage to press on because I understand that I have so much to live for and so much to give to others. I am a firm believer in Psalm 121: 2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. But I need my community’s help as well.

This year I was diagnosed with restricted airway disease. I was recently put on the list for a double lung transplant through The Mayo Clinic of Jacksonville, FL. Upon receipt of the call, this process will include surgery, recovery, and taking required medications for a lifetime. My out-of-pocket expenses will include travel to Jacksonville, FL as well as several months of lodging, meals, and medications.

I have worked in the social services field for 26+ years helping others in need to help better their lives. Now, I am the one who needs to ask for assistance. To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in my honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held in the Southeast Lung Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
