Hi! I’m Meg, and I use a power wheelchair to get around. I have a Hoyer lift at home that helps me move around daily, but I don’t have one that I can take with me when I travel—that’s what I’m trying to raise money for.

Right now, traveling means I have to stay close to home or only go places for a few hours at a time. I can’t comfortably spend the night at friends’ houses, hotels, or family events because I need a lift for safe bathroom and bed transfers. It means missing out on overnight trips, vacations, and important life moments.

My sister is graduating from the University of Hartford this May, as well as showing her photography in a Senior Exhibition. I want to be there to celebrate with her—not just for the ceremony, but to stay for the whole weekend. This portable Hoyer lift would make that possible.

Beyond graduation, this lift would give me the freedom to travel, visit friends, attend events, and live more independently without constantly worrying about whether I’ll have the equipment I need. It’s not just about one trip—it’s about opening up my world.

Hoyer Full Back Sling (everyday use): $289

This lift is lightweight, electric (so my mom can easily help me), and designed specifically for travel. It folds up to fit in our accessible van and can be used anywhere—hotels, Airbnbs, family gatherings, or any place I want to spend time.
