MARIA NEEDS YOUR HELP

Dear Family and Friends,

As many of you already know, in November 2012 Maria was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure. She has a genetic disease called polycystic kidney disease. In order for Maria to have a long and healthy life she needs to receive a kidney transplant. Maria will have to go on dialysis if she is not transplanted soon. Funding this life-saving operation is a monumental task.

Currently, Maria is trying to get on the kidney transplant list but her medical evaluation was put on hold. She will need $5000 to be put on the transplant list. In addition, despite having insurance, many of her medical needs and medications are not covered and must be paid out-of-pocket. She will need to take immunosuppresant medication for the rest of her life. Maria’s sister, Sandra, and four other friends are waiting to be tested to see if they are a match for Maria.

Maria is an amazing wife and mother. Her determination and fight for life is inspiring.
