Marissa Lisowski

Marissa has done her best to remain hopeful and calm throughout her kidney transplant journey. Although she has been blessed to have an amazing and loving support system, being disabled since age 39, has become problematic financially. She has been battling Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) for more than half of her adult life. She is currently 43 years old with stage 4 polycystic kidney disease. Her latest kidney function from July was below 20%. She is awaiting a deceased kidney transplant from the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

Unfortunately, there are also 100,000 other people awaiting a kidney transplant on the list and the wait time could be anywhere from 3-8 years. She has had family and friends test to be a living donor but they were all unable to donate because of medical issues. She has no known living donors testing on her behalf at this time. Because of complications associated with this disease, she is deemed disabled, while her husband, Mike, is the only one working at this time. From co-pays, deductibles, upcoming testing, procedures and medications that aren’t covered by their insurance, leaves them scared and unsure of their future stability.

Family and friends of Marissa Lisowski are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with kidney transplantation.
