Mark Rice

Family and friends of Mark Rice are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with his transplantation.

Mark has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses.

Mark received a liver transplant on July 25th (in the middle of the night, apparently that’s when most of these surgeries occur). His surgeons are super happy with the new liver, and it is a great match for him.

We are incredibly grateful for this gift and for his amazing team here in Utah. He has an army of awesome doctors, nurses, RTs, lab techs, CNAs, PTs, OTs etc. looking after him right now.

Mark was in the ICU for a few days, and then went back up to the surgical transplant floor for almost a week to continue his recovery.

Now that he has been discharged from the hospital, he is entering the next phase of his recovery. We will be staying near the transplant clinic here in Salt Lake where he will be closely monitored for the next 6 weeks.

Although it will be a long road to a full recovery, his medical team is expecting a very positive outcome for Mark.

Right now, Mark has his whole medical team looking out for him, and we are very grateful for that. We are also grateful for all of you and the support that you have been giving us along the way.
