Mary Tomlinson

Mary’s life was turned upside down when she experienced a pulmonary embolus in 2007. Her condition has steadily worsened to the point that now she lives with oxygen 24 hours a day and is on countless prescriptions. Her physicians have nominated her for a lung transplant. So now she waits on the list, anxiously awaiting that event.

After many years as a nurse, Mary is now the one that needs our help. Transplantation and follow-up medications and treatments are very expensive. Even with Medicare coverage, there are co-pays and deductibles, temporary housing, medications and clinic visits – costs could exceed $30,000!

To help with the financial burden of uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign has been established in honor of Mary Tomlinson with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to help patients and families in need for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law and are held by Help Hope Live in the South-Atlantic Lung Transplant Fund in honor of Mary Tomlinson. Donations are allocated by Help Hope Live based on financial need for medical expenses.
