Family and friends of Mary Floyd are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Mary has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

Who is Mary? Mary, a vibrant 59-year-old CPA, graduated from UMSL with a passion for numbers and community. Diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cirrhosis in 2013 after various procedures and efforts, she’s faced her health challenges with courage. In July 2025, Mary received a life-changing liver transplant, giving her a second chance at life. Now, she’s recovering and rebuilding her strength.

Beyond the Diagnosis Mary is so much more than her illness. She’s an art lover captivated by impressionist painters like Monet and Van Gogh, a frequent visitor to the Missouri Botanical Gardens, and a poetry enthusiast. She adores her dogs, Sundance (16) and Zoey (6), and finds joy in classic films like It’s a Wonderful Life. Known for her infectious laugh and compassionate heart, Mary lifts everyone around her, always ready to listen and spread joy.

Her Struggles Liver disease brought tough days—memory fog, fluid retention, sleepless nights from muscle cramps, and overwhelming fatigue. Before her transplant, Mary’s body was shutting down, leaving her confused and sleeping for days. The call for a new liver on July 29, 2025, came just in time, transforming her future.

Why We Need Your Help Mary’s transplant is a new beginning, but the journey comes with significant costs—over $30,000 for anti-rejection medications, travel to Chicago for tests, hotel stays, and co-pays.
