Mary has dedicated her life to helping others find peace. For decades, as a compassionate hospice worker, she has been a source of comfort and grace for countless families. She knows what it means to care for others with a gentle touch and a loving heart.

But now, Mary is the one who needs a helping hand. At 59, she is battling Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), a cruel disease that relentlessly scars the lungs. Simple acts like walking across a room or sharing a laugh with her husband have become a monumental struggle, each moment defined by a constant, exhausting fight for air.

Mary is more than a patient; she is the heart of her family—a devoted wife, a loving mother, a caring stepmother, and a doting grandmother. Her greatest wish is not to conquer a mountain or travel the world, but simply to buy more time. She wants to have the energy to sit at the dinner table with her loved ones, to feel the warmth of a hug without being breathless, and to be present for the moments that matter most. A double lung transplant is her only hope for extending her life and enjoying the remaining time she has with the people she loves.

This life-saving surgery will give her the chance to breathe freely again and focus on living, not just surviving. Family and friends of Mary Lauback are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Mary has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses
