Mason Jaster

Mason was born with a very rare genetic illness. He and his family are asking for help to provided him with much-needed treatment.

Mason forms the heart of a loving family who support him in all his challenges. He was born with a very rare genetic illness, so rare that only a handful of cases have been found worldwide, and so serious that it has caused him to endure over forty surgeries and medical procedures — eight alone since 2019 — throughout his childhood. As a child of a Navy father, Mason spent years in the care of Walter Reed’s pediatric ward. His congenital and developmental issues have been compounded by speech and learning challenges, a severe anxiety disorder, and OCD. Doctors believe these complications have been brought on by medical trauma and amplified by his genetic syndrome. Because of this, Mason now needs advanced out-patient mental health care to help him with these new problems. Sadly, very few treatment centers are qualified — or willing — to provide the treatment and services he needs while being able to handle his complex medical conditions at the same time.

Mason loves soccer and football, fast cars and fire trucks, and skyscrapers – especially those in NYC! When he grows up he wants to be either a chef or a construction worker! He is aware of his own challenges and works hard every day to overcome them.

Your donation will make a monumental difference to help Mason achieve his full potential. Contributions will help to cover the costs of the treatment program that will help Mason, a close-to-home trauma center that helps kids who have trauma from medical issues. Mason has had so many surgeries and procedures in his life, that he has been left with deep engrained trauma. He requires OT, PT, EMDR, and other trauma informed therapies, to help him overcome the mental and physical issues that have stymied his development. All donations will help him to get the care that he needs and help defer the costs of his treatments and therapies.
