Prior to June 2015, Mason Rowley was a straight A honor student, avid reader, talented artist, BMX biker, and overall amazing person loved by so many.

On June 3rd, 2015 he suffered a stroke as a result of a large brain tumor. After surgery our family was warned he would be completely paralyzed on his left side. The week after was very heartbreaking as Mason could not speak, breathe on his own, and fought a lung infection. On June 15th, his 14th birthday, he was saying a few words, had his brain drain removed, and has progressed ever since.

Even with insurance, Mason’s parents are facing many expenses that must be paid out-of-pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, medications, rehabilitation therapy, travel to and from M. D. Anderson (the hospital where he is currently being treated) and a caregiver to help with his daily needs. This puts his family up against a challenge that we cannot meet alone and desperately need your assistance.

To help with the financial burden for Mason’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Southwest Catastrophic Illness Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for illness-related expenses only. Mason has been nicknamed after his favorite superhero, Ironman. We affectionately call him Iron MAsoN- a fitting name for a very courageous, strong-spirited, loving young boy facing a tremendous challenge.
