In April 2019, at 33, Matthew was diagnosed with complete kidney failure due to a genetic birth defect. He was immediately put on dialysis 3 days a week from 5:00-8:30am. The dialysis treatments coupled with working full time proved absolutely grueling.

Matthew lost his mother to Parkinson’s disease five years ago. After being diagnosed with kidney failure this year, his stepmother stepped in as a willing donor. After months of medical testing Alyene was deemed a 99.9% match for Matthew and he was blessed to receive her Kidney on October 7th.

Now Matthew is home recovering and needs to cover significant insurance deductibles and pay for a lifetime of anti-rejection medications which cost thousands a year.

Matthew is a great presence in the life of his father and stepmother.
He is a tremendous positive influence in the lives of his three younger brothers.
Matthew’s priorities are getting healthy and getting back to work as a claims adjuster. With your donation, he can focus on these goals and look toward resuming a happy, healthy life.
