Message from Maura: I have been approved for a transplant at UNC Health! Laura Cooley (on the right) will be my donor. It is a true gift of life! My deepest thanks to everyone for your love and support and generosity!

Friends and family are raising money to financially support the many expenses related to Maura’s kidney transplant and a lifetime of medications and healthcare that will be needed after the transplant. This includes supporting Laura and all her needs as a donor. All funds raised, minus a small administration fee that will go to Help, Hope, Live, will be used to pay for a multitude of treatment-related costs, including copayments (which can be very high) for medications, hospital stays, surgeries, doctor’s visits, IV drug therapies and travel and lodging expenses. The fundraising goal is modest in comparison to the total cost of this life-saving effort, and each donation will be pivotal in helping Maura and Laura have a successful surgery and recovery process.
