Michael Barnes

Michael Barnes is raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with his kidney transplant. Michael lives in Sumter, SC and is being treated at Medical University of South Carolina.

I was transplanted with my first kidney on March 22, 2005 with a live donor kidney from my loving sister, which I can’t express my gratitude enough. Unfortunately that kidney has not lasted as long as we had hoped. I now have to start fundraising again due to my need for another kidney. They will be putting me on the transplant waiting list which has a wait time of 2 to 3 years for a cadaver kidney.

They told me to start looking for another live kidney donor, if possible. FYI, if you want to donate a kidney to me and don’t match my criteria, they now have a kidney swap program in place for your consideration.
