Mike was born with Hemophilia, which is a hereditary disorder in which the blood does not clot properly. This disorder, along with others, has made his life challenging to say the least. In 2002 Mike had to have surgery for a knee Transplant that got infected with staph. The infection continued to come and go and nearly killed him, the only way to fix it was to fuse the right leg with a metal rod. He then lived with it fused for many years until the pain was so great we sought help to see what could be done and the only options were to continue to live in discomfort, or have his leg amputated above the knee, which was done in April of 2023. Mike has been so very happy with the outcome! We’ve never seen him happier! He has a prosthetic, however, he has outgrown its basic functionality and he has an opportunity to receive a better prosthetic. One with a microprocessor that will offer a greater range of mobility and increase his comfort, granting him a greater quality of life that he has not been able to experience after years of pain and discomfort. We are asking and praying for your help to make this possible! Mike and Marion’s insurance does not cover the new prosthetic. Our goal is to raise just the cost of the prosthetic, which is $4,311.10. Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated and even sharing this is looked upon as a blessing.
