Michael Russo

Hi, my name is Melisa Russo, and I’m creating this fundraiser for my brother, Michael Russo, who was involved in a severe motorcycle accident on August 2nd, 2025. That morning, Michael was riding through Marlboro Township on his way to help our father move when a driver failed to see him and suddenly pulled out in front of his motorcycle. With no time to avoid the collision, Michael crashed, suffering catastrophic injuries that have completely altered the course of his life.

Michael is currently in the ICU recovering from extensive, life-altering injuries. Since the accident, he has had no sensation or motor function below his hips. His Injuries Include A T8–T9 three-column vertebral fracture, Fractures to T3, T4, T5, T7, and T10, A collapsed lung, and several broken ribs.

After an emergency MRI confirmed the spinal cord injury, doctors recommended immediate spinal decompression and stabilization surgery, which he bravely underwent. He remains in critical care and is now beginning what will be the longest and most difficult journey of his life. 

Anyone who knows or meets Michael Russo instantly loves him. He’s the kind of person who brings laughter, warmth, and positivity into every room. Energetic, kind, respectful, and full of life, Michael is the best friend everyone wishes they had — always showing up for his family, friends, and even complete strangers. With a heart as big as his smile, he lives to help others — and now, he’s the one who needs help.

A passionate adventurer and sports enthusiast, Michael has always embraced life to the fullest. He played hockey, traveled the world to snowboard in places like France, Switzerland, Turkey, and Montana, and finds joy in music festivals, fishing, water sports, golfing, and cars. He’s never been one to sit still, always chasing his next adventure.

At just 21 years old, Michael turned his drive into a dream by founding his own swimming pool service company. Built on honesty, hard work, and integrity, the business has grown steadily, earning him the trust and admiration of clients throughout the industry. For Michael, this isn’t just a job — it’s something he built with love and pride. But now, while he focuses on healing, he’s unable to run it — and that’s why we’re asking for your support.

 Michael is facing a long, uncertain, and extremely expensive road to recovery. He will require continued ICU care and hospitalization, followed by extensive rehabilitation and physical therapy to give him the best chance at regaining function and independence. In addition to medical care, he will also need mobility equipment, possible home modifications, and ongoing support for daily living expenses. As the owner of his own business, he will need help keeping it afloat while he is unable to work. Your support will make a direct impact on his ability to heal and rebuild his life.
