Help Save Michael’s Life!

Michael Wojcik is only 32 years-old, and is in desperate need of a lifesaving kidney transplant. Six years ago, Michael was hiking with family and friends, when he suddenly became very ill. He eventually passed out, and was rushed to the Emergency Room, where doctors discovered Michael was born with very small kidneys. As a result, Michael’s kidneys have progressively stopped functioning, and he is now in end-stage-renal disease. After months of extensive medical testing, Michael is fortunate to be placed on the active transplant list at Rhode Island Medical Center, where he is waiting for a new lease on life!

Michael grew up in Cumberland, Rhode Island and recently moved to Woonsocket. His condition has been life changing, and as an avid skateboarder, Michael is unfortunately unable to continue his passion. More than ever, Michael wants to undergo a kidney transplant and return to his career and once active life. But since his diagnosis, even with the support of his many friends and loving family, Michael has been experiencing a roller coaster of emotions and financial obstacles, as well.

Transplants are lifesaving, but very expensive. Without this surgery, Michael’s time here will quickly run out, and he will lose the battle with his health. Michael is presently unable to work and his out-of-pocket transplant related and medical expenses continue to rise. Co-pays and deductibles, medications, appointments, travel and meal fees, therapies, and living expenses are more than Michael can handle alone. He will also be required to take costly post-transplant, anti-rejection medications for the rest of his life. Michael is having a difficult time keeping up with these expenses, and he desperately needs your financial help.
