Family and friends of Michelle Bonds are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Catastrophic Illness.

Here is a bit of my story, on December 30, 2003, I was at work and everything was normal, preparing for a new year. The unexpected happened as I was changing the water cooler bottle, it slipped and I attempted to catch it and heard and felt a pop in my low back. I was unable to find anything in my life experience to describe this strange sensation I felt radiating down my left leg from my low back. Then pain, then inability to stand, sit or lie for long, inability to be comfortable at all.

I mustered up as much strength as I could to finish out my workday, and then to worker’s compensation dr. Off work for a few days, ibruprophen,Tylenol, ice, rest… Well, I wasn’t better and it was a struggle of being in survival mode experiencing very strange pains in my back and leg. Back to Dr, sent to surgeon, pain meds that actually helped and scheduled surgery. Surgery was horrific and recovery didn’t recover what I lost, instead it sent me on a trip of feeling like a lab rat…
I had diagnosis after diagnosis and I would ask the dr if the diagnosis changed my treatment (big no) so I asked why it mattered. I just wanted to be fixed.

Diagnosises started with Herniation L4-L5 with moderate compression on spinal cord
Degenerative disk disease
Failed back surgery syndrome
Fibromyalgia
To name the highlights from the beginning…
Then in 2017 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, my primary care dr believed I was one of the rare whose fibromyalgia evolved into multiple sclerosis.

It will be 20 years on December 30, 2024 that I have been fighting against a body who never healed. I am a fighter but I need some assistance. Please sponsor me… Thank you
