Michelle needs your help get back to a normal life after a Liver Transplant. Earlier this year Michelle Davis, wife, daughter, grandma, sister, friend, & Black Rock Ranger was having some medical issues that have led her to a need for a liver transplant. It took many months to diagnose, quite a few hospital stays and a long list of things she had to get done prior to being placed on the transplant list. Last week, she was approved for being on the transplant list and by some miracle, she received a liver today (September 11, 2024). With this process, Michelle had to go up to Salt Lake to be close to her transplant team and she has to stay within 45 minutes of the transplant center, have a 24-hour caregiver for the next 4-6 weeks in case she rejects the liver. The cost associated with this is estimated to be approximately $10,000.Hi, I am one of Michelle’s many friends. We met at an event in 2017 and got to talking about the appetizers we had respectively made and our love of cooking which has bonded us ever since. Michelle is such a kind person and during those early years she was a lifeline to my sanity while I was caregiving for family members. I have enjoyed camping in her and Ron’s big RV and loved being introduced to a Regional Burning Man Event SRNG. Her passion of being a Ranger at SNRG, Element 11, and Burning Man is evident and being able to be a mediator, negotiator, providing safety while maintaining the principals of Burning Man is a gift that not many people have. Michelle and Ron also invited me for motorcycle rides and often breakfast as a break from my caregiving tasks. Seeing her be a bad a$$ on her motorcycle was inspiring and she even belonged to a female club called the Lita’s. BeautyMichelle struggles with asking for help! She will have to take anti-rejection medication for the rest of her life which can have a variety of side effects such as bone thinning, diabetes, diarrhea, headaches, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. The medication also suppresses the immune system (so the liver doesn’t reject) and increases the risk of infection so Michelle will always have to be careful not to be around large crowds of people and anyone who is sick. We are fundraising to help with the cost of housing and care giving while she has to be up in Salt Lake City as well as medical needs that are not paid by insurance, health insurance premiums, including future deductibles. Transportation and meals during temporary relocation and emergency assistance for living expenses. Michelle hopes to get back to work in the next 6-12 months and enjoy the things that she loves best like cooking, baking, and friends. She is hoping to find a job, maybe working from home since her immune system is compromised, doing something like editing books.Please donate to Help Hope Live in honor of Michelle today and ask your friends and family to give too!  Family and friends of Michelle Davis are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant.
