Mika Labergerie

Mika Labergerie is only 35 years-old and is in desperate need of a lifesaving kidney transplant. Mika was born with a medical condition of his kidneys and his health has deteriorated over the years. He is now facing end-stage-renal disease or kidney failure, and needs new kidneys in order to survive. Transplants are lifesaving, but very expensive and Mika needs the help of his community to help with the cost of his transplant.

Mika recently got married and is known to be a loving and kind of person who will make the world a far better place. Mika works as a mental health counselor, loves to play music, sing and write songs. He’s a devoted husband who has a zest for life with a bucket list a mile long. Once Mika’s health is back on track, he looks forward to returning to work and even starting a family one day.

Funding a kidney transplant is a monumental task, as there will be many out-of-pocket and medical expenses not covered by Mika’s health insurance. Co-pays and deductibles, medical bills, testing and lab fees, rehabilitation and living expenses are quickly adding up. Mika and his wife have recently relocated to live closer to University of Virginia Hospital to better monitor his condition. Mika will also be required to take costly post-transplant, anti-rejection medications that are needed for the rest of his life. These expenses are expected to cost upwards of $30,000 which is far greater than Mika and his family can handle alone. They are asking for your thoughts, prayers and financial support to help Mika get through his transplant surgery.
