Minh Needs Your Support

Minh’s diagnosis of end stage renal disease couldn’t have have been more sudden or come at a more surprising time. Six months after getting engaged, while in the midst of wedding planning, Minh and his fiance, Alison, found out that Minh needed a kidney transplant. With no prior inkling of kidney failure Minh and Alison went from a normal life one day to dialysis three times a week and learning about organ transplants and donations the next.

After eight months of attempting to get their lives in order they are finally towards the end of the process and approaching transplant day. Minh and Alison are now turning to Help Hope Live to assist them with expenses, including travel and lodging to the transplant center in Tampa, where Minh will have to be for at least a month post surgery.

Minh has always been one to put his family and friends first, and his diagnosis has not changed this. His sense of humor and willingness to take life as it comes has been what makes each day bearable. Asking for help is very out of his nature, but Minh feels it’s time to reach out to friends and family to ask for the help he needs. He cannot do this alone.

Even with health insurance the cost of a transplant, and everything surrounding it, is astronomical. These unexpected costs coupled with wedding planning and starting a life together has become an incredible burden. Donations would help to cover hospital bills, treatment related travel expenses, and anti-rejection medications which Minh will have to take for the remainder of his life.

Family and friends of Minh are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of Minh to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with his transplant. Any amount given will help not just with medical concerns, but will also ensure an easier recovery for Minh. Help Minh and Alison start their marriage on a healthy and happy note!
