Niri Morton

My name is Nirisha “Niri” Morton, a 31-year-old free spirit who has always loved life, creativity, and exploring new adventures. As a child, I was active and loved being around friends, but life changed when I was diagnosed with diabetes at a young age. Over the years, my condition progressed and eventually led to kidney failure.

Before my diagnosis, I enjoyed writing poetry, drawing, painting, and studying nursing and psychology—career paths I’ve dreamed of since childhood. Since developing kidney failure, my life has drastically changed. I now undergo dialysis three times a week and attend physical therapy to stay strong and maintain hope. Every day is a challenge but also a blessing.

I am currently fundraising to cover critical costs related to my transplant journey. This includes relocating closer to the transplant center for six weeks after surgery, coinsurance and medical expenses for the procedure, and support for a potential living donor. The estimated need is about $10,000.

Receiving a kidney transplant would allow me to return to school, pursue my goals of becoming a nurse and psychologist, and enjoy life more fully with my family and friends.
