I Need A Kidney and I Need Your Help!

I am a 38-year-old resident of Moore, Oklahoma who is in desperate need of a kidney transplant and I am appealing to my community to help make that happen. Transplants are life-saving by very expensive and I can’t do this on my own.

In September of 2012, my life changed forever. I went to the hospital for an injured arm and some blood tests were performed. Suddenly, I was told to come to the hospital immediately because the blood work showed that my kidneys were failing. For the past three years, I have been getting dialysis treatments three times a week. I experienced a scary complication after doctors tried to place a fistula in my arm to make dialysis a little easier. Unfortunately, I flatlined during surgery and had to be revived with CPR. Clearly, I need this transplant!

The good news is that I have several family members who are willing to get tested to see if they can be my kidney donor. The challenging news is that in order to get this transplant so that I can lead a long and healthy life, I need to raise some money. The medical expenses that won’t be covered by insurance, such as the expensive post-transplant anti-rejection medications, are too much for me to handle alone.
