12/19/13 Mitzi has gotten a “clean bill of health” from the kidney clinic, for her 1-year anniversary. Thank you so much to friends and family who have been supportive financially and many other ways. We’re also happy to report that the donor is doing well too. WE HAVE WONDERFUL NEWS TO SHARE!

Dear Family and Friends of the Brandon and Crist Families:
As many of you know, my sister Mitzi Crist Brandon received a kidney transplant December 21, 2012, at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio. What a Christmas present for all of us who know and love Mitzi! Since then, Mitzi has been careful to follow post-op instructions and at her 6-month check-up learned she is doing very well, so well that her chronic anemia caused by renal disease has abated. We are all so very thankful.

Though we continue to be amazed by Mitzi’s progress, the astronomical costs for her required anti-rejection medications along with other transplant-related expenses remain. Your continued support will help her with these out-of-pocket expenses. We are deeply grateful for your support, love, and contributions through the fundraising campaign we established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for over 30 years.
