Molei Wright

On Jan. 30, Molei Wright was driving to the mountains when her car was hit by a semi-truck. The terrible accident left her with severe injuries including a collapsed lung, severed spine, broken ribs, a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and a number of other issues.

Luckily, Molei survived the accident, but now she has to begin the long process of retraining her mind and body to breathe, walk, talk and eat – to live. With the right medical care, she can hopefully regain her former life, so her family and friends are raising money to cover costs that go beyond insurance, which are many.

All of Molei’s injuries add up to a seriously complicated recovery. A complete recovery could take up to two years, potentially longer. Thankfully Molei is fortunate enough to live in Denver, CO, home to one of the world’s top rehabilitative hospitals, Craig Hospital. That’s where she’ll spend time working with speech, occupational and physical therapists in hopes of getting back to living the life she worked so hard to build.

Before the accident, Molei lived a much fulfilled life. She graduated from Colorado State University with a Pre-Med degree and after a few years working in oncological healthcare began a successful career as a financial saleswoman. Always active, Molei spent most of her weekends in the mountains – skiing or hiking – or in the park playing volleyball. Her kind heart has earned her a large circle of loving friends; she’s touched the lives of many people. She’s also been a strong pillar of support for her family, too, helping her mother through a battle with cancer and forgoing personal dreams to save money for her little sister’s college fund.

Molei is already working hard to regain all that she’s lost, and a full recovery could be a reality for her, she just needs the financial support to continue her journey to wellness.

Insurance will only pay for 60 days at Craig, and we want to make sure she doesn’t fall short of her potential simply because the money runs out. We’re trying to raise money to make sure she can spend as much time at Craig as she needs, and cover the additional costs of outpatient therapy and home modifications after she leaves the hospital.

The accident that led to Molei’s injuries was catastrophic to say the least. On a mountain road in the middle of a blizzard she was saved by a Good Samaritan passing by. The CPR took more than 45 minutes of CPR before he handed her off to firefighters for an hour-long ambulance ride to the emergency room. By all means she should not be here today. Molei has been blessed by miracle after miracle to get to this point and it seems she is destined for success. Anything you can do to contribute to her recovery would be greatly appreciated.
