OUR ADVENTURE CONTINUES…..

Molly received her transplant and we are so thankful, but the transplant was not the end of our adventures… it is just the beginning. Molly Still needs your help.

Molly is still receiving treatment, therapy, medication changes,appointments and still fighting with insurance to cover her medical expenses. So we are going to kick off another facebook fundraiser and hold a raffle (more info to come) and are asking that you consider making a donation and sharing Molly’s page with your community.

The start of this journey was being listed for the kidney, now that she has the kidney she still has to travel for treatment and has to be hospitalized for treatment. She is still struggling to retain her independence and live a full life. Please help Molly in her journey to live a healthy life.

Molly Needs Your Help

We are sending this letter with heavy, yet hopeful hearts. As many of you know, our sweet beautiful middle daughter, Molly is in renal failure. She was born and diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease, which was later changed to Multicystic Dysplastic Kidney Disease. In the past 18 months her kidney function has been steadily decreasing. She is going to be on dialysis until she receives a life-saving kidney transplant.

Molly is a loving and smart daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and good friend to many. She is active in the band, loves to dance, loves archery, participates in all school functions, and volunteers to help others. At times it is hard to look at her and all that she does and remember how fragile her body is becoming. At the encouragement of her doctors and transplant team we are allowing her to do everything she feels she is capable of doing as long as she is able.

Our transplant team has asked us to contact family and friends in the hopes that we might find someone compatible, who is willing to be a living donor, as this is the best option for Molly. Sadly, neither of us is able to be a donor due to medications we are both required to take. Her sisters also want to be tested to see if they are a match, but are not allowed until they reach 18 years of age. We are well aware of the sacrifice we are asking, and yet with our child’s future at stake, we are asking anyway. So at this time we are beseeching any of you who might be willing to consider being a living donor to please contact us directly, so that we can give you the information needed to start this process.

Even with insurance a transplant is financially draining. We will have many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these expenses are co-pays, deductibles, lab fees, travel back and forth to the transplant center, relocation at the time of transplant and Molly will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This is where we need your support.

A fundraising campaign in Molly’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 35 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Mid-Atlantic Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
