“A Week in My Life as a CP Person”–OVER!!! Each morning started around 6:30ish, if it’s a good day, I could get up. If not, I remained in bed. A good day meant being active for about 5 hours and “only” using 400 mg of narcotic to fight the pain, plus meds for nausea, sleep, etc. If I did get up, then by 1p.m., I’m laying down. Most days, even good ones, it’s very hard to get back up again to prepare dinner. My diet is low fat, low flavor, low quantity–or OUCH!! Now I have my granddaughter to care for depending on her parents’ work schedules–endorphines and adrenalin are God’s great painkillers! I do have a med that gives me energy, which I use on active days–going to church, errands, or babysitting for several hours. A LOT of planning goes into surviving each week!
September 27th: I had a very successful surgery on Sept. 9th. In just the 2 1/2 weeks since surgery, I see a HUGE difference in the way I feel. Tho the surgery pain will hang around awhile, the Chronic Pancreatitis pain is GONE! Praise the Lord for His miraculous healing through this surgery!!! Praise Him for all the prayer support, 2 drill sergents–Mom & Aunt Sue, a townhouse to use in Tucson and the amazing staff @ UMC who did the surgery and care afterward. Praise Him for a husband who was there for me throughout the lowest lows and highest highs!

Through this, there have been 3 goals: 1–pay for the surgery under the UMC contract, 2–pay for all the extras above what the contract covers that insurance won’t pay for due to being connected w/the surgery. The first 2 goals are reached because THAT’S MY GOD!!! The 3rd goal: once I’ve recovered, help others navagate this pathway to surgery!
