Dear Friends and family,

I, Nasima Banu (58),resident of PA, coming with a humble request. Some of you may know that I have lung disease. Overtime, my lung disease has gotten worse causing my lungs not to work well enough to keep me alive. After months and months of testing and treatments, I was finally diagnosed with Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis progresses quickly and scars the lungs in a way that does not allow oxygen into the blood very well. In August 2021, I was evaluated at Penn Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. The doctors agree that my best chance for survival at this point is a lung transplant.

This is what I am facing now, and my treatment options are limited to a lung transplant. A transplant would offer me more freedom and the ability to live longer, healthier, more normal life. A transplant would also give me more time to do the fun things I enjoy most, like spending time with my family and friends, painting and gardening.

The estimated cost of a double lung transplant in the United States before insurance is $929,600. Unfortunately, not all expenses are covered by the insurance. Other anticipated costs include copays for life long medications and expenses related to my rehabilitation after the procedure. With that in mind, I am requesting my family and friends to raise money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to cover these uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation. Now I am waiting for double lungs transplant under Penn Medicine Hospital, PA. Everyone please help me, I will appreciate your help.
