Nathan Prevallet

In the summer of 2005 Nathan Prevallet was diagnosed with Becker Type Muscular Dystrophy, a degenerative muscle wasting disease that is especially damaging to the heart.

As a boy finishing elementary school and heading on to middle school this was news he did not expect. Any hope Nathan had of physical extracurriculars was shattered, and he knew the many years ahead were going to be nothing short of struggle facing the impending circumstance of one day losing his ability to walk and facing a shorter than average lifespan.

The one thing about Nathan is his courage to never give up despite the obstacles. As the years have passed, his condition has progressed and will continue to do so. Despite everything, Nathan still sees the life he has lived as a blessing from God. Nathan counts among his blessings his family. He and his wife Tosha got married back in February of this year, and they have a one-and-a-half-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter who is transitioning into the 3rd grade.

With the years Nathan still has, he wants to be able to witness the key milestones in his children and his family’s lives, and having an accessible van is how he can make the most of that dream. Nathan’s family, friends, and the community have come together for community-based fundraising to meet a critical need for him and to turn his dream into a reality.
