Our “sonshine” Nathaniel is the light of our lives and we would do anything for him, especially to help him thrive.

He is 4 years old and was born with Down Syndrome, but that is not what defines him, it is just one of the reasons why we are asking for help.

Having Down Syndrome means having low muscle tone and therefore having to work harder to meet developmental milestones. Nathaniel started crawling at 20 months old, only 4 weeks after he finished his first intensive program at Napa Center Boston. He also started feeding himself around the same time thanks to the efforts of his occupational therapy team. Nathaniel walked independently for the first time at 2.5 y old and he just started jumping in June 2023. He works hard to achieve all these skills and he wants so badly to keep up with his peers.
Having low muscle tone does not go away, Nathaniel will always need to work hard to strengthen his core and muscles. He has been lucky enough to get another spot this year at Napa Center Boston to attend an intensive program this summer. Those spots are hard to come by! All his medical team agrees that he will greatly benefit from such an opportunity. We moved a year ago to Massachusetts mainly to access better care and services for him, however, it has not been easy and we are struggling financially, Therefore any help that you can provide so he can get that 2nd intensive on the books will be greatly appreciated. All the proceeds from this fundraiser will be used for Nathaniel’s medical expenses not covered by insurance. Thank you!
