Nichole Maez

Nichole is a 51 year old wife, mother and daughter with a very kind heart. She is always ready to help in any way. Making everyone feel valued and welcome. Nichole has had an active life working in preschool and caring for her family and dogs. Nichole enjoys cooking her delicious meals with recipes handed down from her grandmother and in-laws. Nichole enjoys attending her son’s many athletic and school activities. Nichole creates beautiful crocheted blankets for fsmily, friends and their babies..Nichole experienced the loss of one kidney function about 20 years ago so has been living with one kidney since then. Nichole’s health has failed and she has been on kidney dialysis for about one and a half years. Nichole struggles with sleep due to muscle cramps, neuropathy and the dialysis keeping her awake at night.. Nichole spends the day tired and struggles for relief. Nichole love for cooking has gone by the wayside due to her loss of quality of life. She was flown to hospitals in Wyoming and Colorado for treatment with viral infections and complications.Nichole is fundraising for the cost of relocating close to her transplant team in Colorado as she will need to stay nearby for 6 weeks after her release from the hospital. Nichole will incur the cost to co-insurance for the surgery, anti rejection medication for life and any additional cost if she experiences any setbacks or complications which could double or triple in cost.Nichole is approved for a kidney transplant and is blessed with the miracle that her best friend is a match and will be her donor! Nichole hopes the kidney transplant will allow her to regain her quality of life. She looks forward to creating her delicious holiday and daily meals, caring for her family and friends, and traveling to her son’s many athletic and school events. She would love the simple joy of having a warm bath, and one day accomplishing her dreams of swimming with the Dolphins..
