Noel Miranda

Dear Friends and Family,
Many of you know my loving husband Noel. He is the wonderful father to our six children Connie Miranda-Perez, Mandy Browser, Bachi Miranda, Angel Miranda, Soledad Miranda and Noel Miranda Jr. He is the fun grandfather of ten grandchildren and great grandfather of four. He is a good friend to many of you. Noel grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and has lived in Florida for the past twenty five years.

Two years ago, Noel was diagnosed with end stage liver disease. Due to the rapid deterioration of Noel’s health, I have had to leave my job and be his full time caregiver. He have been receiving treatment and been under his doctor’s care in West Palm Beach and in Jacksonville. To date, nothing has been successful. Noel’s doctors have told us that his only option now is a life-saving liver transplant. He is now on the waiting list at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.

This brings us to the purpose of this letter. Not only is a transplant a major surgical procedure, but it is very expensive. Even with medical insurance there will be many expenses that must be paid for out of pocket. Some of these expenses are co-pays, travel, relocation and Noel will be on a life time of anti-rejection medications. We have already had to relocate to Jacksonville to be in close proximity to the hospital. This is a challenge we can not meet alone.

A fundraising campaign in Noel’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (National Transplant Assistance Fund). HelpHOPELive is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization that has been assisting the transplant community for over twenty-six years. All contributions are administered by HelpHOPELive exclusively for uninsured transplant-related expenses. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
