OLA is desperately in need of your help.

Ola’s long battle (6 years) with liver disease is coming to a critical point. She has been in and out of the hospital several time in the last few months due to complications caused by her liver disease. We are asking family and friends to join us in fundraising for the non-profit Help Hope Live to help with critical expenses Ola will face before and after her liver transplant, including lodging, transportation and other unexpected expenses needed near the transplant center where she is required to stay for a minimum of 30 days following her discharge.

Ola has tried to stay positive despite her chronic health condition. She does not let her disease define her in her daily activities and goals. Her will to live has allowed her to get through each day and avoid the inevitable for a long time but now her liver is only functioning at 18% and she needs our help.

While Ola has health insurance, many transplant expense are surprisingly not covered, such as the monthly anti-rejection medications she needs to take for the life of her new liver (which are absurdly expensive). Ola has been told to anticipate upwards of $5,000 per month just for medications alone.

Donations to Help Hope Live can help ease the financial burden of a transplant and allow Ola to focus on a healthy recovery and a long life ahead with her husband and family.
