Our Mom Has the Chance to Breathe New Life!

Pam’s losing the battle with lung disease, which unknowingly began over 4 years ago, and went into rapid progression after getting pneumonia in August of 2022.  Today she has only 54% of her lung capacity which continues declining every day.  Doctors have told her she has 18-24 months to receive a lung transplant before the disease has done too much damage, and thankfully she has begun working to get a lung transplant through Integris Baptist Medical out of Oklahoma City.  

We’re asking family and friends to join us in fundraising for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to help with critical expenses Pam will face during and after surgery, including the cost of lodging near the transplant center for up to 3 months after surgery and frequent trips back and forth for check-ups.  

Our mom has always lived life to the fullest, bringing friends and family together, always giving her love and support, and sharing in fun and joy with everyone who knows and loves her.  She has poured into so many people, giving her time, her heart and even her money regardless of how it impacted her.  Now is an opportunity for us to give back to her, and give her a chance to breathe life the way she always has.

While insurance will cover a great deal of expense for the surgery, many transplant expenses are surprisingly not covered, such as transporting, lodging for weekly to monthly check-ups the year following transplant, and anti-rejection medications that cost thousands of dollars per month that she will take for the rest of her life.  

Donations to Pam through Help Hope Live can help ease the financial burden of a transplant, allow her to focus on a healthy recovery and long life ahead.  We know not everyone can help with money, and there are other ways to donate which you can read on the website, or you can simply share Pam’s story.
