Patricia Needs a Lung Transplant!

Patricia Williams needs a lifesaving lung transplant, and she desperately needs your support. Almost 13 years ago, Patricia was diagnosed with COPD. Her health has deteriorated and she now requires around-the-clock oxygen support. Patricia attends pulmonary rehabilitation, and several medical appointments each week. After extensive testing, Patricia is actively listed for transplant at Duke University Medical Center and is waiting for the telephone call that will save her life.

Patricia is a kind and loving woman who has volunteered for her church for many years. She is an avid musician and plays the organ, piano, violin, cello and keyboard. She has played the organ for her church, and volunteered many Sunday mornings during mass. Patricia enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews and looks forward to be able to spending more time with them after her lung transplant.

Transplants are lifesaving, but very expensive and more than ever Patricia needs your support. Co-pays and deductibles, medical bills, testing fees, travel, lodging and living expenses are quickly adding up. While out of work, Patricia is unable to keep up with these out-of-pocket expenses. She will be required to hire a caregiver, temporarily relocate closer to Duke, and take costly post-transplant medications after her surgery.

To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Patricia’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years.
