Help Patrick Gain More Independence

Patrick was born 5 weeks early in April of 2009 because he stopped moving in the womb. It was a year later after tests that we got his diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral Palsy affects his ability to move, muscle tone, balance and posture. He is able to do some things on his own, but requires assistance with many day to day activities. He requires a lot of physical and technological assistance. As he gets older, we want to provide him with as much opportunity to learn and do things on his own.

Patrick loves interacting with others, especially his friends and family. He loves watching all kinds of sports, listening to audio books, playing games, and going to new places. Everyone we know all say they adore Patrick, especially his smile and sweet personality. He has always been determined to do everything he possibly can.

While we have great health insurance and provides for the cost of much of his care, it unfortunately does not cover everything and we have had many out of pocket expenses to provide what he needs. As he gets older and larger, we are looking at several expenses that are outside our current financial means. We are in need of a wheelchair accessible vehicle to transport him and expect to need to make home modifications to allow him to do more on his own. We would also love to get him into a special physical therapy program like Now I Can.
