Paula Scarborough

Family and friends of Paula Scarborough are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Paula has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

In the year of 2009, I Paula Scarborough also known as (Pam) was diagnosed with a condition called Sarcoidosis which affects the major organs of a person’s body; it affects my lungs. Originally, I began coughing continuously which caused me to go to the doctor to see why the cough wouldn’t go away; the doctor did a biopsy, and it was determined at that time, the results were sarcoidosis. Over time I would get winded until I was placed on oxygen continuously and that was in the year of 2013 after having double pneumonia. I am unable to wear the portable oxygen because my oxygen levels drop, they don’t have to capacity to have a constant flow of 6 liters or more It was in May of 2024 that I was referred to another doctor who saw the x-rays of my lung and told me that she was sending me to Charleston Sc to the lung transplant team to be evaluated for a double lung transplant. The transplant is costly and what my insurance doesn’t cover will come out of pocket. I am asking for donations.
