Peggi Littrell

Dear Friends, Family and Community,

Our dear, wonderful and beautiful red head friend, Peggi Littrell needs your help! (I know with all her fiery redhead energy, who would know). Peggi is waiting for a life-saving liver transplant.

For the past 10 years, Peggi has been suffering from Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), a rare auto-immune liver disease. She is now in end stage liver failure and her doctors at Emory University Hospital have told her that this is her only option. Some of you might remember that her beautiful mother (Mabel) died from this same disease at the age of 64.

Not only is a transplant major surgery, it is also very expensive. Even with insurance, there are many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, and Peggi will be on a life-time of expensive anti-rejection medications. This puts her up against a challenge that she cannot meet alone and desperately needs our help.

To ease this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Peggi’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Liver Transplant Fund and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant related expenses only. To help achieve our fundraising goals, team “Peggi’s Liverpool” is working to plan some fundraising events in Peggi’s honor. We can certainly use your energy, time and ideas. If you are interested in putting your time or talents to this worthy cause, please contact me.
