New Heart New Life! Help Piljin Jeong Raise Money for Medical Bills and Expenses

Piljin Jeong immigrated from South Korea to the United States to provide a better life and education for her three children. In the year 2006, Piljin and her husband left their lives behind and came to the United States. They worked tirelessly and sacrificed all weekends and holidays for a better future. Due to their hard work, all three of her children graduated from college and have better careers than they could have back home. Although their life was filled with financial crises and instability, Piljin Jeong and her husband never gave up on their dream of fulfilling their children’s wishes.
In the year 2023, Piljin Jeong was diagnosed with End-Stage Congestive Heart Failure. She was first hospitalized in July with hopes that medication treatments would work. However, after three days of hospitalization, her blood pressure started to drop, leading to an emergency angiogram and SWAN catheter placement. That’s when she learned that she needed a heart transplant and was transferred to a higher level of care hospital. At UCLA, the heart transplant/CHF cardiologist team wanted to work in parallel to get her on the heart transplant list while also trying medication management since Piljin Jeong had no previous medical history except for breast cancer.
As weeks went by, her heart was unable to maintain itself without the Milrinone drip, which helps increase the cardiac output of the heart.
In August 2023, her daughter received a call from the hospital that they had found a donor heart. She was transferred to the operating room at 5 PM, and her surgery was successful. Piljin Jeong is now recovering at home with her family.
Due to this ordeal, Piljin Jeong had to close her business down due to increasing interest and the prolonged closure of the business. Piljin Jeong’s family has opened a Help Hope Live page to relieve the financial burden from hospitalization bills to ongoing clinic visits.
