Randy Horne

My husband, Randy Horne, was diagnosed with COPD and Emphysema in 2009. He has been on oxygen 24/7 ever since. His health has declined and his doctors at Duke University Hospital have told us that his only option now is a life-saving lung transplant. Without this transplant, Randy’s doctors have told us that he may only live for about 3 more years.

Randy is 59 years old, a loving husband, father, grandfather, a long standing member of Trindale Baptist Church, an Army Vet and good friend to many. As soon as he was diagnosed his doctors told him that he was no longer able to work at a job he loved – working as a truck mechanic. He misses riding his motorcycle and hunting and many other things he is no longer able to do. We need to raise a minimum of $10,000 to get started!

Even with health insurance, there many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, clinic visits and our travel and relocation expenses to Durham at the time of transplant. In addition, Randy will be on a life-time of expensive anti-rejection medications for the rest of his life. This puts our family up against a challenge we cannot meet alone and desperately need your help.
