Our mom, Raquel, has always been the heartbeat of our family, full of joy, laughter, and endless love. She’s the kind of person who can turn an ordinary day into something special. Whether she’s dancing in the kitchen, planning a movie night, or spending time with her kids and grandbabies, she brings warmth and light wherever she goes.

But recently, our family’s world was turned upside down. After battling serious heart complications, Raquel’s doctors told us her heart could no longer keep up. Her only chance at survival was a heart transplant, something we prayed for with all our hearts.

By the grace of God and the selfless gift of a donor family, that miracle came true. Raquel received her new heart, a second chance at life. The surgery was long and difficult, but she made it through with her trademark strength and faith.

Now comes the hardest part the recovery. Raquel faces months of healing, multiple follow-up appointments, and a lifetime of medications to help her body accept this new heart. Even with insurance, the medical bills, travel costs, and prescriptions are overwhelming.
