Hi, my name is Raven. I live, work, and raise my family in Cochise County, Arizona. Sierra Vista has been my cherished community for almost my whole life.

I graduated from Buena High School in 2014 and it was that same year I learned I had only one functioning kidney—and it was already compromised. I chose to live well and take good care of my health. Still I ended up diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease and in 2025 I was told that my kidney had reached failure and I needed to begin the transplant process.

It was difficult news, but I chose to focus on the positive: I didn’t need dialysis just yet, and I still have what matters most–my family–My loving husband and my sweet daughter–who mean everything to me.

A glimmer of hope came when my big sister, Jessica, began the process to see if she might be an eligible living donor. Then this year, on my birthday, we received incredible news–not only was she eligible, but we are a perfect match! Even within families, this is rare. But by God’s grace, I have been given the opportunity to continue living a life I am so deeply grateful for.

As we prepare for our upcoming surgeries, I feel a renewed sense of hope—hope for more time with my husband, for continued joy in motherhood, and for all the simple, beautiful moments in life that we so often take for granted. It’s a rare blessing, and we are so thankful for the chance at a new future.

While this journey brings hope, it also comes with significant challenges. The surgery is serious, recovery will be long, and there are significant uninsured medical expenses. While insurance helps, it doesn’t cover everything.

We are reaching out to our communities for support during this time. Your gift will help cover essential expenses such as extended hospital stays, necessary medications to ensure my body accepts the new organ, and Jessica’s medical-related costs. When all is said and done, she will be traveling between Arizona and Montana 5–6 times, and the expenses for examinations, flights, lodging, and transportation quickly add up.

Any contribution you can make will go directly toward these costs. While donations may be tax-deductible, the relief and encouragement your generosity brings to our families is truly priceless.

Family and friends of Raven Harvey are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Raven has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

Recently, I was blessed that my sister Jessica Kohl was a perfect match to be my Kidney Donor. Jessica, was my mother’s second daughter and though we are technically half sisters we have always been very close. That she offered and volunteered to be my donor was truly a godsend.
