Family and friends of Ravien Parsons are raising money using the nonprofit Help Hope Live to help fund the purchase of a wheelchair/walk-in bathtub. and help pay for uninsured medical equipment needed to diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome.

Ravien Richardson Parsons is a 39 year old she was a Special Education Teacher. She has a Master’s Degree in Education with a Specialization in Special Education. She was able to teach for 10 years. She and her family are from Springfield, Louisiana. They moved to Utah for 3.5 years. She and her husband Troy were High School sweethearts. Troy is a disabled veteran that served 2 deployments with his Marine Corp. Wpns. Co. 3/23. They have a 17 year old son. They had to move back to Louisiana when she became unable to work due to the complications of her many autoimmune diseases, especially the unpredictability of her Stiff Person Episodes. She is unable to take showers because the many streams of water overstimulate her nervous system and cause her body to stiffen when all of her muscles contract. She is hoping to raise enough funds to purchase a wheelchair accessible bathtub and have it installed so that be able to bathe herself independently as possible for as long as possible.
