Becky Needs Your Help!
Becky Engle is a 23-year-old woman who is very ill. After years of struggling with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic lung disorder that severely impacts the lungs,she was recently diagnosed with lung failure and a lung transplant is her only hope for survival. She received her lung transplant on May 31st and is currently recovering from surgery. Becky is one of the kindest people you’d ever hope to meet and she needs our help. The cost of a transplant can be overwhelming. Becky and her family and friends will appreciate all the support you can offer.

Becky has a three-month old baby girl named Scarlett. Critically ill and hospitalized during the last months of her pregnancy, Becky had her baby prematurely. The baby is doing fine, but Becky is understandably devastated and heartbroken that she has been unable to mother her child. She has been so sick since Scarlett was born that she has barely held her baby. Wanting to be with Scarlett is getting her through a long and challenging recovery. She is determined that as soon as she is well enough, she will reunite with Scarlett and start raising her child.

Transplants are lifesaving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Becky is facing very high expenses including relocation for up to a year to be closer to University of Maryland Medical Center, post-transplant medications, co-pays, lab fees and more.
