Help Renee Get Her New Heart!

Renee Moyer is a 58-year-old outpatient of Temple University Hospital and is in need of a heart transplant. She suffered a massive heart attack in March, 2014 which has badly damaged the left side of her heart. Renee now lives with the assistance of a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD pump). This device is only a temporary answer until a heart is available from a donor; a heart transplant is Renee’s only hope for survival.

Renee is a widow, mother of 4 adult children and grandmother of five. She is the kindest person you’d ever hope to meet. Prior to her massive heart attack, Renee was a full-time employee at Quest Diagnostics serving as a billing representative in the Norristown office. She is a member of New Hanover Methodist Church in Gilbertsville, PA serving on the “Welcoming Committee”. She also served as a board member of “Women’s Bridge Resource Center” which helps women in crisis.

The cost of a heart transplant can be overwhelming. Transplants are lifesaving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Renee is facing very high expenses including post-transplant medications she will need to take for the rest of her life, co-pays, lab fees and more. Renee needs our help.

To help with the financial burden of Renee’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Mid-Atlantic Heart Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
