Rick found a kidney!

Richard “Rick” Capitelli found a kidney and is able to have a kidney transplant this fall/ winter at Northwestern in Chicago IL. We are very excited that he is able to have the transplant, this will allow Rick to have a healthy life and be able to enjoy more time with his family and friends. This kidney transplant will have significant additional expenses incurred due to his complicated medical need. Family and friends of Richard Capitelli are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation and post-transplant care.

Richard has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Rick and his family will need support with travel, lodging and additional expenses due to his surgery at Northwestern. Rick is having the surgery at Northwestern due to his ongoing complicated medical needs and would like his family close during this procedure. He will have ongoing medical care needs after the procedure requiring him to stay longer in the Chicago area, ongoing aftercare and follow up visits. Even with insurance his ongoing medical expenses will be extreme. He will need financial support with his ongoing medical expenses as the immunosuppressant drugs are required for the rest of his life and are extremely costly. He may need to be off of work for an extended period of time and will need additional supports to care for his household.
