RICHARD NEEDS YOUR HELP!

After being diagnosed with with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) in February 2017, Richard has reached the point of needing a double lung transplant in order to survive. Over the past three years he has tried numerous medications and been placed on 02 full-time. There is no cure for IPF and treatments only slow the progression they do not cure it. The only “cure” is a lung transplant and that comes with it’s own risks and treatments as well. He will be on anti-rejection meds and will be traveling to Boston for follow up for the rest of his life. While the insurance will cover the transplant itself there will be extensive tests that need to be run in order to be approved and make the list as well as the expenses of medication and travel post transplant.

Richard and Nicole have been married for 21 years and friends for 27 when they met through work. Richard has worked for the same company for the past 35+ years while raising his family and helping them raise their children now. Richard has 4 children and 7 grandchildren who range in age from 2 to 17. His family has always been the most important thing to him and he would like to continue to be there to see them grow and spend time with them.

Donations will help with copays, non-covered medical bills, medical supplies, transportation for appointments ( to and from Boston), temporary relocation for after the transplant, pre and post transplant medications that he will need for the remainder of his life. Medication can be as much as $3K per month.

We are are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of Richard Prentiss to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
